Corporate Colocation Inc. Completes Examination in Conformity with Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70), Service Organizations
Los Angeles, California, March 15, 2011— Corporate Colocation Inc., a (operator of Green Data Centers in Los Angeles), today announced that it has recently completed its examination in conformity with Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70), Service Organizations for the period September 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011 that was performed by an independent accounting and auditing firm.
Completion of the SAS 70 Type II examination indicates that Corporate Colocation Inc. processes, procedures and controls have been formally evaluated and tested by an independent accounting and auditing firm. The examination included the company’s controls related to: Physical Security, Environmental Security and Network Monitoring.
SAS 70 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for a user organization’s management to obtain assurance about service organization internal controls without conducting additional assessments. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 reports even more important to the process of reporting on effective internal controls by public companies.
A SAS 70 examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an evaluation of their control activities as they relate to an audit of the financial statements of its customers. A Type II report not only includes the service organization's description of controls, but also includes detailed testing of the design and operating effectiveness of the service organization's controls.
Jonathan Goodman, President of Corporate Colocation Inc. said in response to the news, “We are very pleased with the results of the audit which document the effort we have made to provide the highest level of service to our customers.”
Corporate Colocation Opens Green Data Center in LA
By Justin Lee, March 04, 2010
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Corporate Colocation (www.corporatecolo.com) announced on Thursday it recently built a new green data center in Los Angeles that cuts energy consumption and reduces energy costs. Corporate Colocation hired engineers to design a free cooling system within the facility that would filter the cool Los Angeles air and use it to cool the data center.
The system takes the hot air from the servers and distributes it from the hot aisles in the data center. On days when it is too hot for free cooling the mechanical coolers kicks in.
Corporate Colocation says the engineers it hired calculate up to 70 percent saving on cooling costs for its data centers as compared to traditional cooling. The company also anticipates over 2000 tons less carbon dioxide produced annually from the current installations.
Corporate Colocation Green Cooling saves energy, cuts carbon dioxide emissions and reduces the impact of energy cost to its customers, says the company. The company's current data center suite is 3,300 square feet, with another 5,600 square feet Suite currently under construction.
In related news, Equinix announced this week that its SV2 International Business Exchange data center in Santa Clara, California earned the LEED Certification from the US Green Building Council.
